Long, Rambling, Unintelligable. Don't Bother.

Sun Feb 8, 2009, 8:29 PM
  • Listening to: "Pedestrian Wolves" by Oingo Boingo
  • Reading: "The Dante Club" by Matthew Pearl and &a
  • Watching: Hopefully V for Vendetta soon
  • Playing: Sadly, nothing
  • Eating: King Cake
  • Drinking: Coke
AP English is such a cool class, as is Mythology. In AP, we watched Of Mice and Men, and at the end, I started crying. I want that movie, and I want to read the book, now.

Because of Mythology, I also want to read The Iliad and The Odyssey. I think I mentioned this on LJ already, but we watched the Oh Brother, Where Art Thou and I found out it was loosely based on The Odyssey. Which is way awesome.

I also wanted to read all the other old, classical stories--Oedipus Rex and the like.

So, at school Friday, in second block (which would be AP English and Composition), our teacher was busy with Mr. -------, which is like a pageant for boys. This year was it's first year. Everyone won. What a gyp.

Anyways, we had a sub sitting with us that day. And nothing to do. So me and Shay and Walley were talking and goofing off. I accidentally called her "he" and then accidentally called her "Jason" (who is my other friend). She was giving me the "I'm trying to make you're brains explode from sheer will power." It was frightening! And music soothes the savage beast, or so I've heard it said. Not that she's a beast, mind you, no sirree! Heheh... *whistles innocently, hoping Shay doesn't magically appear out of nowhere and explode her brain* So, I started singing, "Pretty Women..." and "I feeeeeel yooouuu, Johaanaaaa..."

Oh, gods, the fun we had! I pulled out the Sweeney Tod script (which I carry with me everywhere, just like Death Note 13) and we started singing and acting like retards. We skipped around from "A Little Priest" to "Pirelli's Miracle Elixer" and "No Place Like London." I got to be Sweeney for the first while Shay played Lovette, we traded lines in Pirelli's, and I was Anthony and Shay was Sweeney.

We didn't get far in "No Place", though, because one student decided we needed to watch a movie.

The day before, Thursday, we'd had a sub then, too. But we had been forced to watch The Last of the Mohicans even though we wanted to watch something else. We thought we might have to have a test on it or something, but we don't.

Anyways, on Thursday, we'd started voting between Across the Universe and V for Vendetta. I, of course, jumped up a down and flailed my arms for V.

Like I said, though, the sub that day forced us to watch the Mohican movie. I was so sad.

Friday was no the case, however! We had a different sub, and he didn't make a sound as a chick pulled V off of Ms. M's movie shelf. I was flailing around and excited again, because this time, we were really watching it!

Shay hadn't seen V for Vendetta before though. I was horrified! I smacked that bitch into a desk and pinned her eyes open! Actually, I settled down and she watched it of her own free will. She LOVED IT! Well, she loved what we got to see before the bell rang. We got up to the part where Evey's being held captive. I was so disappointed, both for myself, and her. I wanted her to see the ending so badly, and I wanted to see it too, as well.

I've only ever seen this movie through completely once. I've watched it three times, since, but had to stop in the middle.

Once because my friend had to leave, and took his movie (V for Vendetta) with him, once because he showed up and we went to the movies, and last on Friday when the bell rang.

We were both excited when we had to leave, and I took her by the Drama/AP 12 room, to show her the V for Vendetta project someone had done (Jason did his on Dune). The students had to pick a movie and prove the main character was an epic hero, or something like that. I dunno. But this person had "V for Vendetta" at the top cut from pages of the comic book. Fake roses served as a border. It was cool.

Because of our seeing the movie, though, I've become obsessed with it. I got around to reading the comic book, and it is AMAZING!! :O I LOVE IT!

I don't own the movie myself, though. So I ordered a used and abused copy from Amazon, along with Guy Fawkes mask and a Treasure Planet video game for the PS2.

I have a group project due in AP English that I didn't do. I will completely understand if my partners decide that I was worthless and don't give me any credit and the teacher gives me a zero for it. I totally deserve it for being such a lazy ass.

I love all my classes, though. Really. A whole lot. I am no longer depressed at the thought of dragging my carcass to school. If I'm feeling a little to out of it in the mornings, I actually say to myself, "NO! You can't stay home! You have awesome classes that rock your face off! Get yo' ass outta bed, yo, for I kick it out myself!"

I'm also really obsessed with Johnny the Homicidal Maniac right now. There's an amazing fanfic I read some time ago, called Song Without A Name (commonly abbreviated as SWAN). I only got up to chapter fourteen or so, then quit reading cause I couldn't find any other chapters. But now I know the site they are all hosted at, and I'm rereading it slowly but surely.

There's another fanfic I'd also like to reread, called Vargas. When I first read it, it was incomplete. Since then, it's been updated, but I haven't read the newer chapters, and, though I know all the basic elements of it, I don't feel I remember enough about the story to just start on the next chapter. A reread is in order soon.

I Feel Sick, the comic by Jhonen Vasquez about Devi, is pretty good. I read that for the first time today after finishing V for Vendetta.

In other, perhaps TMI news, I have a rash on my stomach from wearing a belt with a metal buckle. I'm (my skin?) is allergic to fake jewelry, or metals, or something, and it gives my a wicked itchy rash that, if I scratch at, starts to bleed. But what else can I do!? My pants don't hold themselves up! And I've never seen a belt that actually holds your pants up that doesn't have a metal buckle!

Well, I guess that's all there is to report on. I would have posted this to my live journal, which is where I usually post these long-winded ramblings on my life, but I don't feel like it. It's MY account! I can post what I like on here!

G'night, all. I'm taking a shower, then hitting the hay. Later.
